Oncobeauty è la Onlus che Valentina ha fondato nel dicembre del 2020.
Nel gennaio del 2019 gli è stato diagnosticato un tumore al seno.
All’ inizio del 2022 ha deciso di raccontare la sua storia.
A me e a tutti.
Modi diversi di vivere,affrontare il tempo che scorre..
Anche se a 33 anni il tempo quasi non esiste,cristallizzato dalla fame di vita,
poi all' improvviso può accadere che ti ammali e il tempo diventa importantissimo.
Prezioso.
Valentina è una make up artist e lavora in discoteca.
Glamour,glitter e magia,come nei sogni.
Poi il brutto risveglio,quello in cui una diagnosi ti cambia la vita,prima ti getta a terra e poi ti trasforma in
una guerriera che combatte tra interventi,cure invasive,effetti collaterali,cambiamenti inaspettati.
Questa e la storia di Valentina e del suo mondo.
La storia della lotta contro la vergogna e la paura di non farcela,del coraggio da regalare ad altre donne
attraverso un' associazione no-profit che si occupa di cura e bellezza di cui lei è presidente.
La storia di voler mostrare e raccontare come un mondo perfetto può cambiare all' improvviso
diventando reale e imperfetto ma sempre degno di essere vissuto e protetto.
Oncobeauty è imparare ad essere belle e a sentirsi tali nonostante la malattia,
è imparare a rivedersi,a valorizzarsi e a non lasciarsi andare.
Tirare fuori la bellezza interiore,l’ energia, la forza per aiutare sé stessa e tutte le donne che vivono la
stessa malattia;
la stessa sensazione di sentirsi diverse,brutte,irreversibilmente infelici…finite.
Oncobeauty è attesa,pazienza e speranza perché a distanza di ben tre anni dal primo intervento sul
seno malato è arrivato il secondo su quello sano per raggiungere un’ armonia estetica e ce ne sarà un
terzo,tra un altro anno,definitivo che metterà fine,sotto certi aspetti soltanto, a questo difficilissimo
percorso.
Io e Valentina abbiamo realizzato questo progetto in diversi incontri,in attesa e dopo il secondo
intervento.
Ci siamo incontrate a casa sua,le foto sono realizzate esclusivamente nella camera da letto.
Nel suo rifugio,nella sua fortezza.
Tra quegli oggetti che sono la sua tranquillità,che rappresentano la sua vita passata,quella presente e
quella che verrà.
Una stanza piena di luci,tessuti morbidi,unicorni magici,peluche,oggetti che l’hanno accompagnata nei
ricoveri,nelle terapie,nei colloqui con i medici a cui chiedeva aiuto per tornare ad una vita normale.
Una stanza che l’ha accolta,l’ ha protetta,l’ha vista piangere e rialzarsi.
In cui si è vestita,truccata e dove ha imparato ad amarsi di nuovo.
In cui ha trasformato le sue cicatrici in oro, le sue lacrime in cristalli e gli effetti della malattia in visioni
glitterate e floreali da cui rigenerarsi.
Un luogo da cui è uscita nuova,più bella e più forte che mai.
Oncobeauty è la storia di una donna che combatte.
E per questo può e deve essere la storia di tutte noi.

Oncobeauty is the name of the Onlus founded by Valentina back in december 2020.
In January 2019, doctors diagnosed her with breast cancer.
At the beginning of this year she decided to tell me her story and to go pubblic with it.
A sequence of different ways to welcome time.
The concept of time is probably not even contemplated when you are 33 years old and hungry for life, but it can suddenly become crucial to address it if you get sick.
Time is precious.
Valentina is a makeup artist and she also works in a club.
Her life is a mix of glamour, glitters and magic, just like in a dream.
Suddenly, the worst of the awakening, a diagnosis changes the perspective of life and throws her in a reality that sees her as a warrior leading through surgeries, invasive treatments, side effects, unexpected shifts.
This is the story of Valentina's world.
It tells about a fight against shame, about the fear of not making it through it alive, about the courage to donate to other women a safe space, her non-profit organization where she takes care of cure and beauty.
A story that wants to highlight how a perfect world can suddenly turn into real and imperfect but always worthy of living and being protected.
Oncobeauty is the opportunity to learn to be and to feel beautiful despite the illness, by learning to see oneself again, to value oneself and no letting go.
It's a way of pulling out the inner beauty, the energy and the strength for helping the self and all the people going through same condition, the same sensation of feeling ugly, different and irreversibly unhappy.. over.
Oncobeauty is wait, patience and hope because after three long years, after the first surgery on the sick sinus, there's been a surgery to the other one to get to an aesthetic harmony and there will be a third one to put an end, only for certain aspects, to this very difficult journey.
Valentina and I realized this project in different moments, such as while she was waiting for the surgery and after the second one.
We met at hers, the pictures were realized in her bedroom which represents her shelter, her fortress, immersed in those objects that give her a sense of comfort and are part of her life, past, present and future.
Her room is full of lights, soft fabrics, magical unicorns, peluches , objects that accompanied her in hospitalizations, therapies, interviews with doctors to whom she turned to for help to go back to a normal life.. A room that welcomed her, protected her, saw her crying and getting back up again. A room where she got dressed, put her makeup on and where she learned to love herself again
In which she transformed her scars into gold, her tears into crystals and the effects of the disease in glittery and floral visions from which to regenerate.. A place who witnessed the birth of her new self, more beautiful and stronger than ever.
Oncobeauty is the story of a woman that fights.
Therefore it can be and it must be the story of all of us.
“I hope you will go out and let stories, that is life, happen to you,and that you will work with these stories from your life water them with your blood and tears and your laughter till they bloom, till you yourself burst into bloom."
